You exist so that your blood, your tissues, even your organs can be harvested to keep someone else alive.  Imagine that the person you are keeping alive is your sister, the sister you really love. That’s what Anna’s life is like. Anna was genetically engineered to be a perfect match for her older sister, who has leukemia. Since birth, Anna has donated her umbilical cord, platelets, blood, and bone marrow to keep Kate alive. Now, her mom wants her to donate a kidney – or else Kate will certainly die. Anna’s parents do love her, but she was created to be Kate’s donor. And Anna loves her parents, but she’s having a really hard time giving them what they are asking.  How far should any one person have to go? Where do you draw the line on what you are willing to give? Anna and her family are about to find out.
